We grew up watching Pick Temple, Mighty Mouse, Rin-Tin-Tin, Ranger Hal, Captain Tugg and much more. Years later, it was American Bandstand and (maybe) watching submarine races on the Potomac.

STORES: A&P, Highs, Grand Union, Calvert-Woodley, Woolworths, Memco, GEM, Irvings Sports Shops, Kahns (real monkeys in the Shoe Dept)
OTHER: Fizzies, Dippity-Do, dress codes, (girls) gym suits, hi-top Converse, "I love Sonny" & "I love Billy", WPGC radio, collecting for savings bonds and stamps (Top Value and S&H).
EVENTS: Funeral of JFK, 1960's riots in DC . . .
NIGHTLIFE: Brickskellar, Trader Vics, East Indies Club, John Mandis Roadhouse Inn .....
